Trip to Gisenyi : Apr seniors 2-1 Etincelles
Wednesday 13.01.2010, staff and students of academiy have made the trip to Gisenyi to attend the big game
of Seniors against Etincelles fc. 
In the 41st minute of the first half,
the APR’s hard tackling and no nonsense defender, Mbuyu Twite sustained a serious fracture on his right leg after being knocked
by Etincelles’s player Ben Ngabo.
Abass Rassou grabbed the opener for the APR after the 43rd minute finishing off from a brilliant piece of skills by APR’s midfielder Haruna Niyonzima’s corner kick.
APR got the second goal through midfielder Léon Xavier Cedric.
The hard tackling and tactical midfielder, who played very stealthy movement upfront and combined well with Ngabo Albert and Abass Rassou to slot the ball into the back of the net.
However, Etincelles showed spirit and fought back in the 87th minute when a penalty was given after Kapet Didier's hand ball in the box, which they scored.
The APR are now level on points with Etincelles (19 points) but they top the table on the goal difference in eight matches played.
Despite Etincelles’s massive home ground advantage with fans cheering them throughout the game, the visitors played with unique composure while building attacks and defending intricately.
As expected, the Stadium was packed to the brim and record breaking revenues are anticipated.
